Everything Is a Relationship
I once heard someone say, “I hope I don’t get to

a point in my life where all I do is work on a
relationship.”
And I thought—what else is there?
Everything is relationship.
Your connection to yourself.
Your relationship to your work, your body, your thoughts.
To others—friends, family, partners, pets.
To nature, food, sex, creativity, the world around you.
We should think of relationship as a process we are engaged in. Something fluid and alive. Something we participate in rather than something we possess. In that light, relationships are dynamic, everchanging, and full of potential, if we choose to engage with them that way.
One way to view any relationship is like this:
Me – You – and the space between us.
Or:
Me – My self-image – and the space between.
Me – My child – and the space between us.
You get the idea.
The space between is the relationship space.
So, what would you like to put there?
Would you like it to be filled with fun, warmth, growth, friendship, passion, connection, hope, truth, shared values, joy, love?
Start by reflecting on your vision of that space.
If you could curate your relationships to feel exactly how you want them to, what would that look like?
Create something with it.
Draw it. Journal it. Make a vision board.
Write a song or a poem.
Let it evolve. Let it inspire. Let it guide how you relate—to everything.
Between Us
There is you, and there is me—
or is it me, and then there’s you?
Or perhaps: I am me, and you are you…
or even still; I am you, and you are me?
What is that space between?
A gap? An illusion? A silent devotion?
It breathes
full, then empty, then full once more.
It holds the hush of quiet moments,
the echo of a sweet, shared song,
the warmth that lingers after a hand lets go.
It is sameness and difference,
connection and separation,
unique yet common,
a belonging that seeks to close the distance.
All that is shared lives there
between you and me,
me and you.
